Due to holidays the Northwood Planning Board has changed some dates of their regular monthly meetings for November and December. Due to Thanksgiving the meeting will be November 20, 2008 and will begin at 7:00 p.m. Due to Christmas the meeting will be held December 18, 2008 at 7:00 p.m.
Beginning September 3, 2008 the Northwood Transfer Station hours of operation will change to the Fall/Winter schedule effective through March 31. In addition, the Transfer Station will be CLOSED September 1, 2008, due to Labor Day. The hours are posted on the Recycling/Transfer Station page - click here .
The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services announced on May 5 that the changes to the Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act (CSPA) enacted April 1, 2008 have been repealed and reenacted with a new effective date of July 1, 2008. The state is now operating under the preexisting law and rules. New projects and activities conducted within the protected shoreland do not require a permit until July 1, 2008.

The Recreation Department has begun registration for Summer Camp. There are 3 different weeks to choose from with three different themes to enjoy, Water Week, Olymic Week, and Retro Week. View the flier that is posted under Documents and Forms for more information. Space is limited and will fill quickly, so register early. To obtain a registration form for Summer Camp contact the Town Hall. Registration forms are not posted to the web.
Thank you to all 683 voters who participated in the election on Tuesday, March 11, 2008. With regard to the two petitioned articles for SB-2, neither one passed as 410 votes were needed to reach the 3/5 requirement. The votes were 358 in favor and 304 opposed on the Town article and 364 in favor and 299 opposed on the School article. All three articles on the planning board amendments passed. Those results were 360 to 244 on article 4, 345 to 264 on article 5, and 363 to 264 on article 6.
